Hand Built FRESHWATER Irish Bouzouki/Octave Mandola. Superb Quality Instrument in Durham, Durham for sale

This beautiful instrument was hand built by top quality luthier, David Freshwater in his workshop in Scotland. His instruments were very popular but he only produced them in small numbers and couldn't meet the demand, so customers had to wait a long time to get their instruments and he finally ceased trading in 2011. His instrument were superb value and very well made from the best solid tonewoods, and one like this would have sold at around £900 when new. Used ones are quite rare and becoming quite collectable. This is an 8 string instrument in 4 courses of 2 strings like a large mandolin. It can be tuned and played similarly or tuned like a bouzouki. Ive seen these described as octave mandolas, Irish bouzoukis, or Celtic bouzoukis.. take your pick as to how you would wish to describe it. Its in very good, lightly used condition.
